African Fabrics

There is something quite special about the colours and patters in African fabric. There are handprinted (see left) and handmade batik (see below left) varieties.

Mainly cotton fabric is used for batik. If damask is used it results in a fabric where the damask pattern is shining within the batik colouring (see top foto). Interesting facts and a wonderful collection of African fabrics can be found at Twiga Design:
